Riprap Hollow is a beautiful trail that has a little bit of everything. Swimming hole, small waterfalls, and some of the most spectacular views of the Shenandoah Valley to the North and West. Moderately rocky and steep at times, with a few water crossings. Feet won't get wet unless you want them too.
This trip will begin at the Wildcat Ridge parking area, from Skyline Drive mile marker 92.1. A 6.3 mile hike in and out of the Hollow along with 3.1 miles on the Appalachian Trail that will end at Blackrock Hut, for a day total of 9.4 miles. The next day will be 6.2 miles heading south on the AT back to the parking area. A shorter mile hike is possible if not wanting to staying at the shelter.
